Why are some horse predominant in either being left or right handed,2007-11-24 21:23:15

as a matter of fact it has nothing to do with people being either being right or left handed or being trained that way, The Animal Whisperer.

for the exact same reason as people are! they just preference one side and tend to work better off one rein.

Theres no specific reason as far as I know - but I do know that some people who work their horse off one rein more than the other, merely because they bend better etc, due to favouring that rein are doing their horses no favours - you should totally balance out the riding directions and if anything spend that bit more time on their bad rein!

It has nothing to do with being right handed or left handed.

Okay, I'm being a smarty pants, sorry.

I'm assuming the answer you want is - its supposed to have to do with the position the fetus lay in the uterus, so that they more naturally bend one direction than the other.

Can they prove that's true? I don't know.
