Why are some people (horse back riders) such Hypocrites2007-11-24 21:23:15

Some people get bent out of shape when they hear someone runs their horse. There's no difference between running your horse and barrel racing, show jumping, or dressage. There's an equal amount of chance your horse can get hurt doing any of these thing.

Most people that run their horses (like me) don't run in areas we don't know, we all aren't stupid

For the people that show or event horses that comment badly on us people that run are horses, maybe you shouldn't include that you compete because you come across as a HYPOCRITE

I think you're a tad bit right. I mean, look at some of the answers you got! People just get SO defensive, and mad just bcuz you're defending some girl.

Horse people in general have to be careful, horses can be really fragile and they are some of the most difficult and expensive animals to keep, not to menion the vet bill...

They just want to make sure their horses dont get hurt, even if they do get a little... protective.

but if you're just running your horse over a strip of land you know very well, that has no ditches or logs that the horses could trip over, then why all the fuss? Also, it's really good for your horse. So as long as you aren't going in dangerous terrain, the running your horse should be FINE.

excuse me but i ride horses for a living and all my friends do the same, none of us are hypocrites so i have no clue who you are talking about it is definatley not all horseback riders.

OK, please can somebody define 'runs their horse' for me. The last question that I answered sounded like a person was galloping their horse all over the place, and that was their major activity.
