Why are there so any abusive horse trainers2007-11-24 21:23:15

There are horrible trainers, there are horrible owners. It takes time and alot of it to bring a horse up to where it needs to be. Unfortunately ppl use short cuts at the horses expense.

I know what you mean. My instructor is like that. And I stopped letting her train my horse because I couldn't take it anymore. Because my horse wouldn't go over a liver pool for the first time in his life, she kicked him as hard as she could with spurs. i came back the next day to ride him, and he had holes of puss and blood on his sides. I called the vet, they had to close him up on BOTH sides and they yelled at me even though I didn't do it. It was disgusting. I asked my trainer what happend. Do you know what she said? He wouldn't go over it. It is just wrong. But she also trains lesson horses. And I showed the lesson horses for a couple years and whenever she came to the shows, the horses would do worse. They would go faster and ignore your signs. Then RIGHT AWAY when she left to go pick up horses, my horse got 6 blue ribbons in a row. It was amazing! Then she came back and the horse bucked me off and I broke my rib. Except trainers like to "show off" Atleast some of them. They like to show that they can handle difficult horses and they think they are cool.

There are vicious people who get kicks from being mean to animals. They are bullies who have inferiority complexes, and by beating a horse into submission, makes them feel like real men. Which they are not and will never be. Imagine how great their horses would be if they rewarded them and treated them kindly! And by the way - it isn't "wallah" but "voila" - a French word. Just thought you'd want to know!
