Allright... I'm probably going to be yelled at this for saying this... but I'll say it anyways. A lot of trainers, not all but some, don't see what they are doing, they would never DREAM that they were abusing their horses. It's strange... my trainer right now is kind of like the one you are talking about. She gives what a horse gives back to her... and if that means beating the crap out of them, she does. She LOVES her horses, and they love her too, they gallop up to her at the gate, but I have seen her smack the crap out of her horses. Your right-- they do in fact get results that way. And I don't think many people understand how to get it anyway else. My trainer is a great person and I wish she would be more gentle sometimes, but that is what she is. She is a trainer and deals with 1200+ pound animals who need to learn respect. And don't think I'm siding with them at all! It's in fact, quite the opposite. I just really wish people could find ways to get results out of their horses some other way.

Professional trainers do this to make them look good and to make them look as if they are doing something absolutely perfect. This also kind of insures that the horse does what the so-called trainer tells it to do. Some trainers get out of hand! I saw some at Equine Affair!

As long is there is good there is evil. It's just how it is. But did you know that animals are getting abused all the time. AND YOU EAT THEM! Food animals are abused.dont you care about them??

Most "PRO" trainers have alot of patience. Just be carefull of the "Part Time Trainers" A pro trainer gives the horse every oppertunity to respond to the cues. But I have seen a few good trainers slap a horse pretty hard when the horse tries to hurt Him/Her!

Because the old school way of training horses is through fear and breaking the horses spirit (you don't need to break their spirit you need to gain their trust)
