Why do people believe that those who give strongly worded answers are hypocrites
Sometimes I'm totally surprised at the lack of knowledge people have when they answer questions! I would never dream of telling a gerbil owner how to care for a gerbil, since I've never owned one. My only knowlege would be from other people's casual comments and reading a page or two in a pet care book. But there are many times others respond to horse questions with equally poor answers that show they don't know much about that particular topic! And sometimes they get the positive rating, because it's a kind, soothing or friendly reply, and I might get a negative because I gave an informed opinion that goes against the writer's origional belief.
Nothing you can do about it, except roll your eyes! And I guess to write again, like you've chosen to do, and try to educate the person who commented.
I hope you can still have fun with petqna.com !
There seems to be a growing tendency here for people to get a little OTT in their responses, both in answering questions and now we are having follow ups.
Now the 12 year old 'cowboy' seems to have us all running as well!
The way the original question was worded, just sent a chill through me, it really does sound like an uncaring youngster who just wants to gallop everywhere, with no consideration for the horse or it's training.
I'm actually still struggling with this whole discussion though, obviously a youngster who just wants to gallop everywhere is a danger, but there seems to be a ground swell of people who never gallop. I did most of my riding in the UK, and most horses would be expected to gallop, when we ride out, we use all paces. I'm sorry but I don't see why saddle horses can't run, if they can in one country why can't they in another?
