Why do people sweat horses necks
Why do people sweat horses necks2007-11-24 21:23:20Answers:
Halter horses have a lot of muscle mass and thick throat latches so they are worked with sweats on and then left for an hour or so and then hosed off. It's done on a daily basis and it helps to reduce the appearance of the neck and give them a more refined profile.
they are all rednecks
what???
what is your question?
it makes absolutely no sense.
Halter horse people sweat the neck to remove the excess fat and make the neck look slimmer, the throatlatch cleaner, and the shoulder more defined. A horse with a huge fatty neck is not going to win many halter classes.
People use neck sweats or wraps to try and get rid of what they THINK are fat deposits around the horse's jowl area, thus creating a more refined and less studly appearance. This pleases judges, who are looking for refinement in the head and neck area of certain breeds, such as Quarter Horses. The reality is, though, that what these people are doing really doesn't work- most of what is around the jowl area is muscle, not fat, and the neck sweats really don't do anything for the horse. Hope this answers your question.
If the horse has a fat neck, they use a neck sweat to trim down the neck and give it a sleek look. Many people who show halter horses do this to improve the look of the horse.
get rid of excess fat.
