Why do people treat questioners like they are 22007-11-24 21:23:21

personally I would rather ask one question and get MORE info that I dont need, than ask a question and not get enough..

I see LOTS of people letting kids ride (often western riders) without ANY kind of helmets...

Well, take into account that no one on here knows anything about you. People may be just assuming you don't know something, because they don't know anything about you. Don't take it to personally. Remember, you are asking total strangers from all over the world a question.

Most laymen who stumble across petqna.com decide to degrade and practically piss off anyone that asks a legitimate question on here. It's quite sad. petqna.com is good if you ask the same question 2-3 times, to ensure people both see it and that the right people see it. I, thankfully, am not 2 - and will not respond to you as if I was 2.

No, 'any idiot' does not know to have a child wear a helmet while riding. I think the reason people express concern in situations like this is because so many people post questions without having a CLUE what they are getting into or what safety procedures need to be followed for the rider and/or the horse. There are all sorts of people on Y! Answers who are a danger to themselves and their animals.

Horseback riding is dangerous, and those who are experienced know firsthand about this, and also about folks who haven't the slightest idea about the risks they are taking. I think a lot of the cautionary answers received are folks wanting to share information they learned the hard way in case the asker may learn from it should they choose to listen.
