Why do people treat questioners like they are 22007-11-24 21:23:21

There is A LOT of bad advice imparted on these forums from people who don't have a clue. Giving advice when you don't know what you are talking about is dangerous. Those same people often ask questions that deserve answers that 'tell it like it is.'

Don't take offense that people are concerned about your sister. Count yourself lucky that people wanted to make sure she would be as safe as possible when she starts riding in case you were one of those who needed that information (even if you didn't ask for it!)

I asked about a good sports bra to wear while riding...

I got answers such as = no one wants to hear about your bowling balls & such.

Take it with a grain of salt. there are no filters of age, experience or anything else here... so you will get more bad than good. well I should say more immature than mature.

i know! i was saying in one question how i have been riding my horse bareback, no pad, no bridle, nothing. everyone was saying, "That is so dangerous! If you fall off..." Well guess what? I have been riding for at least 10 years and i know my horse. i will ride however i want. my horse has never thrown me, so the way i see it, if i fall off and she hasnt thrown me off, that is my fault or no ones at all.

i know what you mean. you ask a simple question then people give you a huge lecture assuming you know nothing. I will only give people extra information on the basics if they really sound like they don't have a clue what they are doing, or say something that really irritates me.

It is very common, some people like to provide more information to be helpfull on the matter and others just like to assume that the asker knows nothing and just be rude. You'll also find answers that obviously are not meant for your question, not all read the questions in full before they start to give there negative, off the wall, responses.
