But, overall, most people on here have good intentions and want to be helpfull. They spend time coming back to share opinions and experiences and some like to take a bit further to "prove" themselves. But, that is the personality of the individual and that can be found everywhere, not just here.
I do understand how it can be frustrating, with that just try to take what you can use and ignore the rest.
Also, take the answers that best suit you and if there is a alot of confusion from one person to the next in opinion, research the information provided and make a final judgement. Answers is a good place to start your research on matters, but I don't feel that ALL situations should end with the answers we provide here. (see how I just took it further, lol, but this is meant not just as an answer to you, but for others that might find it usefull).

I think Beth and hhqh01 said it best. Really, a lot of "idiots" don't know (or care) about basic safety. You don't have to pass a test to have an animal, and they don't come with instructions. I think a lot of us are afraid that the only advice a person might get will be here, and we want to make it as complete and detailed as possible. Some others are just in it for the points, and I am pretty sure all they do all day is sit at the computer and play petqna.com . I might, too, if I would not rather be out WITH a horse. A last reason would be that not everyone who sees your question and answer is you! When I answer a question, I try to remember that it is public (and keep it nice - usually). Anyone can read it, including total novices that might not be as informed as the asker. Horse people are not just a bunch of condescending jerks, any more than dog people or any others (try reading the politics section sometime.) I'm glad you vented, because you get a chance to get feedback on the forum, from the forum. Please don't think we are all like that, though!
