Will my horses ever graze again in the area they have "pooped"2007-11-24 21:23:24

if this is the case then the horse will not eat the grass untill it is worked into the ground.

me i used to take a wheelbarrow etc and put all the feces int tht and then onto the muck heap and i found that the horses would graze almost everywhere but the areas where they urinate etc would have greener grass growing there and the horse would eat this.

some horses will have toilet areas and some will not, i had one that insisted on doing it in one place only in the padock.

you dont say how long from you taking the horse out to raking it and replacing the horse so my guess is that they can see the manure on it and if they can see and taste it then they wont eat it.

what will help is put somthing that they like and soon they will eat there again, it work 4 my sissters horse.

One of my horses only poops in a certain area and I have never seen him eat there. We clean it once a week but he knows and refuses to eat anything from that area. I think its a quirk some of them have, even if he is eating he will go over there, poop, then come back. My other one poops all over and eats all over. In my opinion its a personality thing. Maybe once thier scent is gone they will eat there otherwise they will probably always avoid it!
