Will you pray for my horse2007-11-24 21:23:25

I bought an expensive horse in the fall after selling two much loved horses. My new horse, Hailey, was the object of several years of dreaming to show on the Paint circuit. Then in March she was playing in her paddock and hit her fetlock on a small piece of PVC pipe. She punctured the fetlock joint and within 24 hours was 3 legged lame.

My local vet she was going to be permanetely lame if I didn't do something drastic ASAP. I hauled her to an expensive vet clinic 4 hours away and was told I would have to pay over $3000 to have her leg treated with the odds of 70-80% that she would end up totally sound. I am not a rich person and it had taken a huge amount of my savings just to buy this horse, but I felt that I had to try to help her. She was a good horse and deserved every chance I could give her, but it wasn't easy.

My local Pastor even prayed for her at prayer meeting that week. It touched my heart how many people cared for me and my horse that way. Sometimes we think no one cares about little things such as out pets. But often they do.

My story has a happy ending. Hailey had a slow recovery, but now is totally sound. I have shown her once and am riding and hauling her frequently for show lessons. She has a tiny bit of swelling still in that joint, and I am hoping that she won't have long term problems in the future. But for now we had a miracle cure in our lives.
