Wintec 500 or 2000 saddle with CAIR system2007-11-24 21:23:25

Leather will always last longer and wear better than wintec but it is more expensive and needs more looking after,

hey - I can only speak from my own experience, but that was a bad one - I bought a new WIntec about 14 years ago and had nothing but trouble with it - the tree broke after about a fortnight - even though the saddle was treated with the utmost care.

I brought it back to the saddlers who sent it back to the manufacturer - and I was left waiting for over three months for what I assumed would have been a new replacement, but instead they just fixed the tree and sent the same one back.

THAT tree also had problems in the fact that whilst it didnt break, it did twist.

I would certainly not have done anything to cause these problems and even my saddler agreed it was bad workmanship. Needless to say I moved away from WIntec products after that!

All I can say to you is that these problems did occur a good few years ago and i would assume that Wintec have improved products etc since then, but personally speaking, I wouldnt touch one of saddles!

My horse is kept in a very busy livery yard, which is also a very busy show jumping location and every 2nd horse has a wintec saddle! I have two wintec's i would definatelly reccommend the 2000 cair and it's much comfier and the cair system stops pressure points.

The 500 is good aswell though especially if your only doing the odd hour etc but for hacking out for a few hours or heavy cantering i'd get the 2000.
