Witch breed is the best horse to buy2007-11-24 21:23:26

Any horse no matter the breed can be sour and any horse can be great.

I have and have always had Arabians, older ones say 15ish can be great. All my lesson kids ride them and own them.

I have met great QH's and some that are really mean. Thoroughbreds can be great horses too. It depends on your level on what leve horse you get. Just remember there is a horse out there for every person.

Just look around, dont let any breed bias stop you from going to look at a horse. Just go see the horse, ride it, test it out and if you dont like it dont buy it. If you do then go ahead and ask for a week trial.

Just to set it right, as many know. Arabians may be a bit of a hyper animal but they are great beautiful animals and they do not attack children! They also out live most horses. I have a 34 year old lesson Arabian, a 10 yr old girl riding a 15 year old Arab and have been riding Arabians since I was 9, and never once been attacked. I learned every thing I know from Arabians.

Good Luck on your search I hope you find the right horse, no matter the breed.

What ever you feel comfortable with, after all, its you that will be tending to it!
Any breed of horse is good for showing, the question is what type of showing are you interested in? Some breeds perform better at certain types of showing than others. For instance, if you want to show western pleasure, then a quarter horse, appaloosa, paint, or any other stock breed would be great for that. If you like saddleseat, then an American Saddlebred, Tennessee Walking Horse, or National Show horse would be excellent. If you like hunt seat or show jumping, a Warmblood, Saddlebred, Quarter Horse, or Arabian would be great.
