With regards to equine questions,Do you want to hear it straight from people who actually KNOW
Aside from the Look at My Pretty Horsey questions and those gosh forsaken Howrse questions, there are questions that are asked and a vast amount of people who say just tie the head down, show when your not ready, this is how you make the horse run, with minimal thought to overall safety and education. This isnt like COTH or EC or NEHP.Its a varying group of what appears to be everything from people whove been there or done that to I got a $100 want ad horse in my backyard cause Ive always wanted a horse.
Ive re read some of my responses to a few & yes Ive gotten frustrated...but maybe thats just me.We ALL have to start somewhere, and I was a beg. once too.But when sharing my knowledge,I want to start with safety FIRST,for the horse THEN the rider.I know that there are several of you who feel the same way...
Whats YOUR thoughts? Do you think people want to hear it straight?
Answers:I was always taught safety first. This used in conjunction with thinking of how it will look in front of the judge and jury if we were ever in doubt. Care for the horses because they rely on us for everything.
Perhaps the good advice presented to these folks is provided to plant the correct seeds of knowledge. In the best possible world, maybe advice given here will assist these folks to find the right instructor, trainer, mentor when they are ready to learn what the animals are really about.
Some tremendous talent and knowledge is available and if that isn鈥檛 shared 鈥?appreciated or not 鈥?it is a disservice to the animals themselves.
As with many things in life, there are those willing to put the time and effort into learning the proper way of owning/riding/handling horses, and then there are the rest.
