Wormer for my horse
Also, they may be using a deworming medicine that only needs to be dispensed monthly or every 2 months. You don't know unless you ask.
I would talk to his owners about getting on a regular schedule. Tell them that you would like to take over worming him. You don't want to do it in addition to them. Over worming isn't good either. You should worm every 3 months. I use Ivermection but it's good to switch up your wormers so the worms don't get immune to one. While on the daily wormer, you should also continue with the regular wormer. Hope this helped.
First you _and_ the owners need to decide if THEY are going to do the wormer/vaccinations or if YOU are going to be responsible for it.
What makes you think that he is not getting "enough" wormer? Does he have a nasty coat? Does he have trouble keeping weight on? NO IT IS NOT "alright if he gets wormed by both them and me in the same month".
I don't worm mine on the "normal" schedule. We pretty much do a fall and a spring, if that. Sometimes just in the fall. I don't see any reason for a daily except to dump money into your compost pile. But if you insist on a daily, be very careful with what you choose to worm with.
I'd advise worming only once or twice a year.just be very careful with wormer, some animals can develop an intoxication from ivermectin.
Good Luck with your decision.
