I just got two this week--and I was wondering if I went to clean their tank--you know how you have to take the frogs out as well? Would they become so stressed out that they will die when you take them out?
Answers:Take them out with a fish net and put them in a cup or container while you clean. No they wont die when you take them out just make sure you dont have them outside of the water for too long.
take the frogs out and quickly put them in a cup of water while you clean the tank.
They won't die if you don't keep them out of water for over an hour.
I used to have some regular little tree frogs. I would catch them (wearing gloves or catching them in a little clear plastic cup so they didn't react badly to the oils on my hands) and put them into a "critter keeper" for the 20-30 minutes it took to clean their hab. They were always fine. They didn't like being handled, but they didn't completely freak out when they were.
I don't know how different african dwarf frogs are to tree frogs, but that was my experience. Hope this helps
no just put them in a box and hurry and clean the cage real good then put one by one
no they actually become tammer mine are cool they just move to the other side while i clean
If you are referring to the little aquatic frogs(Hymenochirus) you shouldn't be breaking down the aquarium to clean it each time, you should be following the same procedure as with fish; one-third water changes.
Take a bowl and put some of the water that is in their tank now in the bowl. Then you can remove the frogs and put them in the bowl. Once their tank is clean you can put them back in.
