African Dwarf Frog Dying

African Dwarf Frog Dying2007-11-24 1:47:06

Okay this is gonna sound stupid probably, but my ADF is laying on her back at the bottom of the aquarium and I thought she was dead but when I tapped the glass she moved. Do you think she's just slowly dying, she was fine yesterday, I have 2 and the other lil guy is fine.

Answers:

yes because i had 2 of them and my one did that one day and the next day it was laying on its back at the bottom and it didn't move. Sorry!

Maybe she lazy maybe she is dying who knows get her checked out by the vet she could have a problem or maybe she is just old when did she start acting like this?
My 2 ADF's never do that. Maybe you should take out your other ADF that you know is healthy and put him in a separate tank for a little while. I would be worried that the one laying on its back might be sick and would make the other one sick.
take your ADF to a vet. maybe it's jsut relaxing, but then again, its an awkward position for a frog.(i have frogs too)

~good luck~

HI, I would say your frog is definately unwell. Frogs don't usually lie on their backs at all. Sounds as though the lil thing is ill. Id take her to the vet if its not too late. Good luck and Im sorry if it is bad news from the vet. :(
