Anole help
I bought a tank last night that came with two green anole lizards. I know absolutely nothing about anoles, but I have somebody picking them up either tonight or tomorrow.
In the meantime, I have no idea what to do with them. I don't have a mister so I sprinkled water all over their leaves...they seemed fairly pleased with that.
They came with a day light and a night light- one is just a regular bulb that I am assuming is the day light, and one is a purple-blackish bulb that I think is the nighttime light- am I correct? They have the regular bulb on them right now, and they're turning a better color and they're basking in it.
They have crickets in there and I'll give them a few more in a bit. Is there anything else I should now? I'm just worried because one of them turned a bit of a brownish color, but his regular color seems to be coming back.
Answers:You sound like you've got it all under control. Good Job! I'm assuming you have the bulbs in the right order, though I have to admit I've never heard of "day and night bulbs" for lizards before. They will change color reflecting their current moods, but if one goes brown for a bit, its nothing to worry about. When they get black spots behind their eyes, it means they're angry, but its still nothing too bad.
You should put a water dish in there with them though.
Keep doing what you're doing.
Hope that helps.
Anoles will switch between green and brown, that's not really anything ot worry about. If they start getting black spots behind their eyes, on the other hand, that's a problem.
