You mean for caring for them? What kind of turtle? Not all turtles require the same kind of care. Be more specific. :)

First check to make sure it is legal to have a turtle in your state. Then talk to your local petco or petsmart or local equivalent.

Also many animal shelters or animal rescue groups have 'exotics' like reptiles and turtles for adoption.

If you get a turtle you should definitely get a Red Ear Slider. they are easy to take care of and can be handled more. All you really have to do is get the right set up and feed them. Another good turtle to get is a yellow belly. I have been around ALL reptiles since I was born, and I strongley advise this. Go to reptilecity.com and you will get a good price and advise.
