How much UV light time does a central american boa need
Per day that is? When should I turn the light off?
Answers:I'm not sure who told you that you need a UV light for a Central American Boa, but you don't need one. A regular light bulb will work just fine for a Boa Constrictor. They aren't a reptile that requires a U.V. light like say an Iguana does. They get everything they need from the food that they eat and don't need artificial sun in order to digest their food. Just need heat.
I would second the first answerers answer though and say that you can turn the light on when you get up and off again when you go to sleep.
you should turn on the light when you wake up an turn it off when you go to sleep
I agree with the person above me.
Snakes are not a type of reptile that needs UV rays in order to be healthy. The reason for UV light bulbs is so that some reptiles get the important Vitamin D that helps to keep bones healthy. UV light bulbs are normally used for reptiles that are strictly herbivorous (i.e., iguanas) because they usually don't get enough from the plants that they eat. Carnivorous reptiles, like snakes, should get plenty of Vitamin D from the animals that they eat.
Simply put, a UV light bulb is not required for snakes.
