i want a cute little turtle..do they grow are is there a type that stays small?

please make sure that you have a place for a turtle before you buy it and that you want the responsibility and don't mind the smell. one of the most common breeds to be found in the pet industry are the red eared sliders. they are only about 6-8 inches acrossed the back of their shell. some people keep them in an old tin tub and some, even the bath tub. they require room to "move." also, even though, I am sure that you are willing to clean you turtle quite often, the water (waste in the water, including defication and decaying food)can start to produce a horrid stench within an hour or two, so please be prepared for this, many people aren't and that's why there are alot of turtles either neglected or returned to the pet shop.

I got mine in NY.Queens to be exact. If your not in NY I'm not sure. I have 4 red sliders and to tell you the truth..I never thought I'd become attached to turtles, but i have! They do have a way about them! But the way I think we paid about $5.00 for 2.

When I was a kid ( long ago) Mom bought my sister and I turtles, and she paid 25 cents each! INFLATION!
