I want to get a pet snake Does anyone have any good arguements for getting one2007-11-24 2:01:05

My mother says that she's afraid that it would get away and die in the walls of our house. I've assured her that I have a screen for the tank, but I'm sure that there must be other reasons for her refusal. Any suggestions?

Explain to her the following advantages to snakes as pets:

1. They don't bark very much.

2. They rarely leave dirty litter boxes.

3. They shed almost no fur at all.

4. You can walk them without having to buy a leash. (Just hang onto their tail)

5. They don't chase cars.

6. They have adorable personalities.

She's sure to realize that snakes make the best pets in the world.

well, as long as you have a screen it wont get out. and plus, snakes cant climb up walls. Try taking her to a pet store, and ask if you can hold one of the snakes to show her how good you are with them. Dont get a scary looking one. you should show her a corn snake or a king snake. They are very easy to take care of and they dont usually bite.

Your mom is afraid of snakes. Even if you have a screen it doesn't mean that your snake cannot come out. Most pet snakes are not dangerous as long as they are fed properly. Tell your mom that your snake will be in a secure tank and that if you get to feed it properly, your snake will be well taken care of.

There not really all that safe. Even if the people you buy it from say it's safe. They really don't know there selfs? They say it so you will buy it. Please trust me. My friend had one and it bit her she had it for 4years. Why did all the sudden did the snake want to bite her. She went back to the place she bought it from and ask to speak to that same man. The man said he had no idea that such a little snake could do that. I'm trying to help out. But after all it's still up to you?

Well for one a screen with out a proper latch the snake can get out of its tank even if you think its to small to get out it can. Some people just don't like snakes your mom may be one of those people. Mine wouldn't let me have one but now that I have my own home and have snakes she has gotten used to them over the years and will actually hold one of them. But that took years of doing and patience on my part and hers. Yes they make great pets if you get the proper one for your experience just not everyone wants them in their home.

Hey, some people are afraid of snakes, PERIOD. Respect your mother's fears. When you move into your own house and have your own life and income, then you can buy your snake. Then, it will sneak out of the cage at night and strangle you.
