Iguana potty problems
I have an iguana he is a few months old, o.k. here is the question he has two water dishes in his terrarium and when I first got him he was going potty in his water dish like he was supposed to now all of a sudden starting last week he has been going in the cage! His water dishes are plenty big so I know that is not the problem! Any idea or suggestions in what to do?
Answers:The earlier answers are all correct. All iguanas are not alike but, most can be potty trained. Mine are, they go in the water, they have a water pan/kitty litter pan full of water, and i also take them out everyday to use their own special bathtub, they will use the potty in the cage if their water pan/kitty litter pan has already been dirtied up and i haven't gotten them out to take them for their baths yet. Most of the time they will hold it but sometimes i get delayed and am late in getting them. I do know it is soooo much easier keeping their cages clean if i get them to the tub first thing in the morning. They totally prefer to go to the tub.but if they have to, the will use it in the cage if they have no other choice. Good luck with yours, but it sounds very normal what yours is doing..
That is normal. They dont always go to the bathroom in there water dish. So it sounds like you have a healthy iguana. Good luck with him,

are iguana is potty trained to go out side or in the bath tub but if we dont take her out she will go in her cage
I have a 5 ft iguana that is a free roamer and potty trained and i have a baby iguana. My big one always goes in her water filled kitty litter box without any problems. My baby is almost 3 and he still goes in his cage and not in his potty bowl. If you don't clean bowl after they go potty they will go elsewhere. Sometimes they are like little children and cannot hold it. LOL
