My Red Ear Slider Turtles skin is shedding, Help

The skin of it looks like its shedding or its peeling off, im not talking about the shell, is it normal? I put the drops of the reptil taplets in there to make the water better.

What i did to gently help my three red eared sliders who appered to be quite itchy and nipped there own legs was took a extreemly soft toothbrush and gently rubbed there legs and any other exposed skin, eventually as i did this one alowed me to get his neck as well. It is normal for a red eared slider to shed, and make sure your turtle has a basking lamp and UV lamp and a floating platform to get up on to bask, this helps greatly with shedding and over all health as they are only semi-aquadic turtles and can develop fungi and infections if in the water too much, and if your slider is still growing i reccomend getting 'feeder fish' and putting them in his or her tank. They love them. As for something to help clean your tank you can usualy find fist sized fresh-water snals in a local pet store. they will clean the insides of your tank. They also will eat meats and fish, chicken and roast beef is a favorite treat here. While they are young they are more carnivorus and when they reach the size of a dinner plate they will me more herbivore. Red eared sliders are good pets if taken care of by people who have open minds, the time, and money to take care of them. As for a big tank you can use a large clear plastic storage tub if you dont want to buy an expensive glass aquarium. I do not know how experianced you are so this is some of the basics that every turtle owner should know.
