My bearded dragon is sleeping all day long2007-11-24 2:01:34

My dragon has dug a hole under one of her logs and lies underneath it all day long and, I assume, sleeps. When I pick her up to play she is really listless. After about 5 minutes she wakes up but she has never acted like this. Is there something wrong?

Is she old? Older reptiles tend to sleep a lot unless she is pregnant, or even ill. Hope the prognosis is good.

Where do you live? If the weather is changing in your area then she is beginning to hibernate. I'd give her a bunch of crickets to eat before she is totally into winter mode. She'll probably be very inactive until March. For mine, I still use the lights all winter long but not a real heat lamp bulb, just a 100watt bulb so it's not really really cold. So far so good, I've had them 3 years.
