How can i tell if they are male or female?I have 2.Would like to get them a mate.Not sure how to tell them apart.HELP

box turtles are easy

males usually have color on their legs, their eyes are red

the underside of their shell is indented

females are generally brown w/brown eyes and the underside

of their shell is flat

Ok, the only true way to tell them apart is to probe them. However that should only be done by a vet or someone who has lots of experience. Generally.. Male turtles have relatively skinnier tales and are smaller, while females are bigger with shorte, fatter tales.

You're assuming she is old enough to tell. If she is old enough, tehn you can go for the sure signs to sex it. If it is a hatchling or a young turtle, you may have to wait several years
