Should you spray iguanas with water2007-11-24 2:02:45Answers:

You can, you can also put them in a tub off warm water if you have one that has shedding problems or like to swim.

Just to comment on someone above, iguana are NOT desert animals, they are from a tropical rainforest climate.

The best thing you can do is it to regulate the humidity level all the time though.

yes it is good for them
yes
Yes. You can even use "Vita-Spray" by Four Paws. It contains nutrients that are good for their skin. (contains electrolytes, which is a big plus)
I would think not but it mite be good for there skin
My boyfriend used to when we had one. They shed their skin sometimes and the water helps moisten the skin so that it sloughs off more easily.
No way! Iguanas are desert animals, that's why people put heat lamps in their tanks. Give them water to drink in a small bowl, but don't spray them.
I have seen an iguana thourghly enjoy a light spritzing of water.

As long as you don't spray him too often,or when it is too cool, and you keep the iguana's home very clean there shouldn't be any problems.

yes, a light mist is healthy for them.the pet store even sells a mister you can put in their home. it imitates their natural habitat in the rainforest.
I had an iguana and don't believe I ever sprayed her. I would never get another one, as it is very difficult to keep them in the manner that they need. I could not provide her with everything she required and she probably died because of that. Poor Patricia. RIP
i mist mine with water when i know their getting a little too hot by sitting in the sunny window.just don,t do it during cold weather.
Yes. It keeps their skin moisturized.
yes, they love it.
