Snake in a House

Snake in a House2007-11-24 2:02:46

No offense, I lived in the Bay area and people not from here are as afraid of Earthquakes here as they are of hurricanes in the East but people who live in snake country must have it worst. How the Hell do you live in a place where if you don't close your door or window correctly, you might find a snake in your house, in your toilet or crawling on you when you are sleeping. I have nothing against people owning snakes but I think finding a snake not your own of the poisonous type in your home must freak most people out. Any stories?

I used to live in Oregon and once a BAT got in the house! Uggh! I'd rather have a snake because they're alot easier to catch. just get a stick and pin it down behind the neck.

i have family in heavy rattle snake country, they have found several snakes on there porch ,few in there home, they where raised there and think nothing of it,but if i visit after dark i always get paranoid and watch my foot steps
Well, i live in a part of the east coast and we have snakes, lots of them! we kind of got used to seeing them, once one was slithering on our kitchen counter!
I live in yuma az. and rattle snakes do too.
Snakes generally stay away from homes occupied by people. Even if you live where there's butt loads of snakes, like my uncle in Placerville, they find them mostly under the deck. They wouldn't come in any more than you'd find a rat or mouse running around your house and I'm sure you can control that?
it's a matter of where you live as to what your phobias are, from earthquakes to hurricanes to snakes, bears and aligators..location, location, location
I thought we were badly done to in the UK with bird flu just around the corner and rain every other day. You do have some worries in the USA don't you?
We find baby and grown water moccasins (cottonmouths) occasionally around the house and in the shop and garage. But somehow once when we had the septic pumped a juvinile got in before it was closed and came up trough the toilet and was coiled up in there. now i always look before i sit. (and it rains every afternoon in the summer time, tall grass galore)
