Tortoise Compatibility

I have a russian tortoise already set up in a habitat, and today I recieved a egyptian tortoise. Can I put them in the same habitat. Everything I've looked up says they need the same type of environment.
Answers:if they have the same enviroment u can put them together as long as they don't try to kill each other*i heard they can do that* if that should happen u should sepperate them
What are theyre genders? If its both male, they might fight, but I dont see a reason why. I dont know much about keeping pets.
Introduce them under supervision only. There could be problems. I have an aquatic turtle and he occasionally attacks his reflection. He's also been attracted to his reflection before - so I guess it depends on his mood or his eyesight! :)
First of all, I would try to have them separated, at least for a while. The principle behind it is that your new Egyptian tortoise comes from a different environment, and a quarantine would be the right thing to do. My friend used to have a tortoise, I don't know exactly what kind, but she used to tell me that turtles and tortoises are very prompt to acquire respiratory disease. I would wait at least 6 weeks and then introduce them and let them be together for short periods of time, and observe them. If you see that they get along, let them be together, sometimes even members of the same species don't get along. Good luck, and make sure you take good care of those lovely pets.
if the requirements are the same then go for it but keep an eye on them for compatibility
