Want to keep a bearded dragon, any tips2007-11-24 2:02:54

To keep them you need a tank or vivarium about 36" x 18" x 18"

with heat at one end . Either a heat mat or spotlamps can do this.

Also an ultra voilet lighting system is esential for these lizards.

They are insectivorous and vegetarian and make wonderful tame pets.

Both previous answers are incorrect. 36" isn't enough room for a beardie. They can get rather large and need a minimum of 48" (4 foot) of space per lizard. Beardies are awesome lizards though, extremely friendly and relatively hardy.
The easiest way to get a bearded dragon(no matter where you live) is online. Go online and search for breeders. If you find one nearby, you're good to go. Otherwise, they can be shipped overnight air. It's expensive, but worth it. Dragons need a LOT of room when they're full grown. They can be almost 2 feet long. A 75 gallon cage is the minimum size you should have when it's an adult. As babies, the can be in smaller cages. You need heat from bulbs and/orundertank heaters(Not hot rocks) a feed bowl, water bowl, at Least one hiding spot, and cage furniture. Feed your dragon romaine lettuce, other leafy greens, veggies, and fruit. You also need to feed them crickets or other live insects. There is also a LOT of commercially available food available.
yeah ull need a heat lamp live food to eat it 'crickets worms and veggies and a tank so it has enough room to run and grow
