Iguanas regardless of age DO NOT require animal protein. They are strictly herbivores..meaning that they eat leafy greens and vegetables. We follow the Iguana Den diet for all 4 of our iguanas. 2 of the iguanas were near death when we rescued them, they are now all healthy :-) Feel free to look at the pics of our igs.

I would talk to someone at a pet shop. I know they need a special vitamin, or perhaps it is Calcium. They can have problems with their back legs and be paralyzed. I saw it on a show, but can't remember right now.

you need to have a 2:1 calcium phosperous ratio, kiwi is good no spinach or bananas, very deathly lots of greens, carrots pretty well everything you find in a grcery store heres a list:

mango papya swiis chard swet potatoes apple blackberries blueberries grapefruit(not to much, too acidy) alfalfa beet greens broccoli stems and leaves collards crickets mealworms green beans honydew squash peahes pears dandilion greens green abbage kale plums raspberries strawberries tofu leaf lettuce mustard greens oranges (not to much too acidy) romaine lettuce tangerine and turnip greens. hope that helps.
