I'm not sure if you have the ball python housed in his permanent enclosure yet or if he's already been quarantined.

If you just bought him and he's in a separate tank other than his permanent one, there are special mite sprays that you can buy to ward off existing mites and prevent new ones from hatching. Make sure to let him soak in some warm water first to get rid of any "surface" mites.

If your snake is already in it's permanent enclosure, you need to start from scratch one. New furniture, new bedding (buy a brand new bag of bedding and toss the old one), and you need to completely clean out it's cage with soap and water (if you use bleach, dilute it with water and make sure to wash thoroughly). Make sure to wash the enclosure out meticulously as tiny mites and mite eggs can survive in any cracks between the glass.

If your snake has been infested for a long time, or there are a lot of mites on your snake's body, take your animal to the vet. Mites can suck so much blood out of a snake that it can cause an anemic reaction and your snake may need antibiotics and fluids to restore it's health.

u should be able to get mite medicine at the pet store.they have it for reptiles.just make sure u sanitize the cage too.

Throw out all the bark. Clean the cage completely, soap/water the whole 9 yards. Soak the snake while you do this. Then you can get a mite spray from a pet store (sometimes its in the bird section) and follow the directions on the bottle. Usually consisting of spraying the animal and the cage multiple times.

Keep the cleaning routine up, changing everything completely once a week and your mite problem will reduce drastically and eventually dissipate. Good Luck!
