I really want a pet snake, but I've never had one before.

What sort would you reccommend for a first time owner?

I have looked into Cornsnakes but can anyone advise me further?

none. get a differnt pet. snakes are evil for eating cute defenceless mice ALIVE. that and they scare me. try a lizard or somthing.

You'll want to consider what sort of diet you want to supply and how large they will get. Corn snake seems like a pretty good choice, though there are some gorgeous boas out there, too, that start out small.

Carpet Snakes are really good because they cannot hurt you. Some pythons are aslo really good. I'm not sure about cornsnakes but Ive herd they are good to.

Don't let animal rights activist WHACKOS talk you out of a snake. Yes they do eat mice and rats, that is what we refer to as NATURE.

Corn snake is an excellent starter snake. They were my first as well.

Some will reccomend ball pythons. They can sometimes be picky eaters.

i used to keep corn snakes and African House snakes they are really straightforward to look after and easy to handle get a baby and watch it grow but when it gets bigger be careful when its shedding its skin as it eyes will cloud over and it will strike you and it hurts as well

Keeping a pet snake is a rather risky thing, because they need a lot of care and can very easily be accidentally killed.
