If you are thinking of buying a snake, please do your research first. They can make awesome pets. Here is my list:

1. Lighting is very important. Each species have different requirements.

2. Heat is also important because without it they can not digest their food.

3. Space.lots of space. I know I wouldn't want a small environment to live in.

4. Hide boxes are necessary to make them feel secure.

5. Food.I raise my own so that they have the best nutrition. If you buy live or frozen mice or rats you really don't know what they have been fed. Also, with most snakes you really should pre-kill the mouse/rat. If the snake isn't hungry it is common (especially with rats) for them bit or gnaw on the snake.

There really is a whole lot to learn and this is a very small amount of info.

What ever you do please do not catch a snake in the wild and keep it. It isn't fair to the snake or the environment.

Is this for a pet, like a ball python or corn snake? Then Do:

Take care of it well

Give it a nice, big viv

Give it a water bowl

And some hide boxes

A source of heat

The right substrate

Get a snake without doing research first.

DO research them first and if you DONT then DONT get one. they are not the best trial and error animals. for that you need a fish.
