I concure that it's either a painted turtle or some sort of slider.The second answer has some good pics to choose from though!
does it have red on the side of its head? or yellow? what type of pattern is on the shell? could be a red eared slider or a yellow slider, or many others. need more details.
its a box turtle or painted turtle. if it has red on the ears its a red eared slider. If the shell is really big its a box turtle.
