We have a bearded dragon. We researched all types and found the bearded dragon to be the best. They are not aggressive. Iguanas tails can be painful if they smack you with it. Bearded dragons can roam around loose in your house. They however, do need time in their tank under a heat lamp for a few hours a day. We have had ours since he was a baby. He is now 4yrs. old. Ours eats crickets, bee moths, shredded carrots and some greens.

jesus lizard is a great band. i would start with that and make your way up to monitor lizards (which are delicious in tacos)

I am a big fan of Chinese water dragons. Very similar looking to an iguana but not the main stream "oh I have a lizard" pet

bearded dragons are by far the best lizzard I know. They are very tame and not aggressive at all. They stay a decent size and are easy to take care of. Mine loves to hang on my shirt and will stay in the same spot until i move her. Bearded dragons are a bit expensive but well worth the investment.
