My freind has a italian lizard and i heard it gives diseases will anyone tell me what kind of diseases it ??

Answers:Any reptile can carry salmonella and any age can get it. Washing your hands is extremely important but indirect contact transmission can happen by the cage being contaminated like its water dish and its skin and clothing. Do tons of research. The reptile lovers will say its rare but it really is not if you look at ALL the research. Do not do any maintenance in your kitchen or bathrooms (like empty the water dish). A healthy human may contract, carry and reject salmonella without knowing it. It also may be spread from human to human by clothing etc. bleach is the only hing that kills it. You are smart to check this out but get information from non biased sources like LA County Health Dept and others CDC.gov and much more details needed.

No, I don't think you will get any diseases from a lizard.
It must be an Italian wall lizard. I couldn't find any sources for diseases it may carry, but after doing a little research I learned it does thrive on human debris, therefore I would think it could be unsanitary to some extent. Other sources show high school biology classes catching and tracking them. Go figure. If it makes you uncomfortable, try to avoid being around it and don't touch it. It probably isn't much worse than a common household roach.

If you wash your hands after handling it, it shouldnt give you a problem. any type of reptile, hell, even a dog could give off disease. just try not to stick your fingers in your mouth after handling a reptile. Oh crap, did i remember to wash my hands after playin with my bearded dragon? i hope so
