should i put drifwood in so he has somthing to scrap against because his hide box is just a cardboard box ??

because he also is trying to do it on the glass

Answers:

By all means put something in that he can scratch and separate the skin with.

Make sure it is somewhat anchored, so he just doesnt move it around.

If you don't know, you should not own a snake!! But yes, if the snake has turned a whitish color, and his eyes look like he is blind (like a milky white color), then he is ready to shed.

If he is going under things and trying to scrape against things, yes, he is trying to break the dead skin loose, so he can crawl out of it.

However, if he is rubbing on the glass, and leaving a trail of "slime", he has a respiratory infection, and you should take him to the vet right away!!

You should get a reptile glass box with a lid or screen lid. Putting drift wood or a rock something for the Snake to rub on... call a reptile store look in phone book to fine a location near you.. Are you feeding your snake mice? Mt nephew has a corn snake...Good luck.
