how often do bearded dragons go to the bathroom

I have a beardy and she only goes to the bathroom,(at first) every few days. and now she hs not went in wks( i think),cause SOMETIMES I take her outside in a blocked off garden area and dont watch her the whole time,but I dont think she went. Could it be the change in weather? I know reptiles are not as active in the fall/winter time. She is eating mealworms/crickets but wont touch veggies hardly anymore.

have you tried soaking her in a bath of lukewarm water? usually a warm soak will stimulate a bowel movement. some people even do this daily, sort of as potty training. but. you said she has not gone in weeks. a bearded dragon should be going to the bathroom if not every day, every few days- depending on husbandry and environment. it is a good sign though that she is eating, but should be eating the veggies as well. have you tried different types of veggies? mine seems to get bored if i offer the same type all the time. A number of things could be going on with your beardie (impaction and improper husbandry, as the others mentioned). the best thing to do would be to find a good vet in your area. and if by any chance the beardie does go to the bathroom, you could get a fecal done for the vet to look for parasites (which can make beardies lethargic). i agree with Zac on looking through reptilerooms.com here is a link to the bearded dragon forum.

here is also a good list of herp vets, you may be able to find one in your area. it isn't that expensive to do a health examination, and as always, would be in the best interest for you and your reptile pet.
