people say that we should not kill a snake. i want some more beliefs on snake

Fiction and the facts:

A snake will chase you- no, they will stand their ground, sometimes, but mostly, they retreat

A whipsnake will whip you with its tail-no, they do not do this. They are so named because of the length of the tail

A snake fang stuck in a tire will kill you if you touch it- no, the fangs do not contain venom, they are used to inject it.

If a snake bites the handle of a shovel or hoe, it will travel up the handle and kill you-no, the venom stays where the bite is and will not defy gravity

If bitten by a venomous snake, drink alot of alcohol (booze)- no, doing so is no cure and only hampers medical aid.

If you cut its head off, the snake will not die until sunset-maybe. snakes have a slow matabolism and this is why it takes some time for the heart to stop. If done at proper timing, this may work. Besides, without it head, how can the snake know when sunset is?

Horsehair rope can be used to ward off snakes- no, they will cross horsehair rope
