its about a anole cuz i have one2007-11-24 2:01:29

i have a anole and i wona know if it is brown could that be that he is sheding his skin? or could it be he is not eating? cause he hasent ate in like 2 days. some one help plzzz..

When a green anole turns brown, it is a sign of severe stress. Stressed anoles may turn green at night when their lights are out and they are asleep, but will turn brown again once they wake up and start the new day.

The stress may be environmental (enclosure is too hot or too cold, or there is a cat staring at them most of the time you aren't around, etc.), or it may be psychosocial, something that will happen if you are keeping two or more anoles together in one enclosure.

Depends on whether or not its a Cuban Anole or a Green Anole. I assume you have a green anole. Many reptiles do not feed during shedding, especially snakes. One reason is because they have lenses over their eyes and they cant see well. Not the case with Anoles though. They Blink.. I would suggest double checking the temperature of the cage. If its too cold he wont want to spend the energy to get food. He's cold blooded, and will conserve energy, by not moving.

your anole could also be about to shed his skin, most reptiles go through a period of fasting right before a shed. But id do your research and make sure its not stressed. number 1 you need to feed it every day

number 2 they change colors from a brownish purple to a greenish yellow.

it will shed every 4 weeks maybe.

BTW i had an anole and they die in like 4 months
