my bearded dragon is anorexic so i bought her this stuff that comes in a tube called "jump star2007-11-24 2:01:34

i am worried that if i force feed her (you slide the tip pf the tube into there mouth and squeeze a small amount in) that she will start hating me and not want to be held anymore. should i still force feed her? or do u think that she will kno that what i am doing is good?

btw, "jump start" is this thing that can be used for lizards that are anorexic, off-food, or need an extra boost of vitamins. it has calories, fat, potassiom, protein, vitamins..etc. basically it has a TON of good stuff.

and she swallows it when i give it to her, but she puts up a fight.

Will she eat anything on her own? If she's not eating, take her to the vet to find out what's been going on with her. Mix the jump start with some chicken or veal baby food. You can use squash and all that other stuff, but we want to get some protein in her. Suck it up in a syrenge and see if she'll lick it off.if not, give her small amounts at a time. If you have any Pedyalite or don't mind getting some, mix it in and that'll help her also. She wont hate you. Don't be worried about that. Just take her to the herp vet as soon as you can. In the mean time, a nice soak in the tub will do her good. The water should be lukewarm or about your body temp and fill the water up to her shoulders. Let her soak for about 20 minutes.

Ummm The only bearded dragon I've ever fed is between my wifes legs. I'll tell you what, she swallows it when I give it to her TOO.

We used to have an anole that had starting loosing weight and was drained of energy, if yours is still eating anything on its own, the pet store suggested a powder that you coat their food, crickets for example, in and it was vitamins, minerals, and calcium that lizards need. I cannot remember what it is called but it comes in a short white bottle. I hope this helps.
