You can soak the turtle in warm water. Make sure though that it can keep its head above water and not drown. Mites will hide in the folds of skin and these also trap air so this alone will not work. You will need to empty his tank of all substrate(bedding) and water bowl whatever you have in there. Clean all this along with the empty tank in a 1:10 bleach and water solution. 1 part bleach to 10 parts water. Make sure your turtle is not in the tank when you do this. Clean all the stuff that goes in the tank with the same solution. Put clean newspaper in the tank and throw away the old bedding. then only place the water bowl and a hide back in the tank with your turtle. Mite eggs will continue to hatch since most pet store treatments like Mite off will not kill the eggs. You will want to clean the cage daily for about a week. Make sure that once you clean the cage you allow it to air dry and air out for about half an hour before replacing your turtle in it so the bleach as mild as it is does not harm your turtle. Make sure you read the directions some like reptile reliefe can be sprayed all over your animal others you can not get it near the head. Spray your animal down and make sure you work it into the skin folds around the legs and neck. Do a follow up treatment along with spraying the tank after about 4 or 5 days. This should kill any newly hatched mites if any.
