Bathe the eyes with boric acid solution and apply any of the antibiotic eye ointments..do not use drops as they simply wash off. For several days, you should keep it warm and dry.make sure your aquarium temperature is warm enough.78 to 85 is good.if possible allow some sun.remember do not place a closed cage in the sun.it will get too hot..and also make sure that it has a shaded place to get out of direct sun. Add some calcium blocks to the water (at pet stores) and if nothing seems to work, then you need to take it to a vet. We use tylosin to treat many reptile infections but this is an injectable drug and the dosage must be very exact.remember that 2/3rd of its weight is the shell, so we are talking about tiny dosages.

cataracts. see a vet.
I'm not sure, but you may need to take him to the vet. I thought it might be related to molting, but eye infections are really serious. You can also check out this web site:

Good Luck!

If you carefully place it in a 9 by 12 glass container, set your oven at 475 F and place inside stove for 17-20 minutes. Then pull it out and slowly saw along both sides of the shell with a small jigsaw. Once opened sprinkle a 3 cheese blend over the inner parts of the cute red-eared slider. Then place back in the oven for another minute or two to get some good cheese meltage. after that the tenderness is indescribable. Just softly lift the upper half of the shell and set it aside. Then with a small fork you can feast with the lower shell as your plate. mmmm, mmmm good.
I used polysporin eye drop cream from my local drug store for mine, years ago. I found that the cause was water temperature being to cold. This simptome can be part of a bigger concern though. Make sure the turtle has a dry warm basking area. If you have fluorescent lights over his home they are useless for his health. You need a good source of heat for him to bask in. Turtles eat underwater but need to be dry and warm to properly digest their food or in time this can kill them. good luck.
I'm really sorry, but I have had a few turtles that got a white film over their eyes, and they stopped eating and died. It could be contagious, so keep it away from your other turtles. I hope it's ok.
Eye infections in turtles are often caused by problems with our basic cares and diets. The two most common reasons for swollen eyes are dirty water or vitamin A deficency.
