possible, to have alligator as pet
it is possible (anything is theariticly possible) certainly not recomended and depending on county and state there may be legality issues. if going to keep one read like hell visit gator farms and find someone that has a full grown gator to get tips from them. an 18 foot 2500 pound animal isnt the easiest or chepest by any means they are also well known for living up to 100 years. and call your local zoo to check that they have a gator program and will be willing to keep it in a couple of years you do not whant to be responsible for it killing a child if you let it go in a pond or creek (which alot of people do that keep gators). i would go with a dwarf caimen they are much better suited for pets i have 3. smooth front or wedge-head stay small about 4-5 foot spetacles still get up to 9 feet.
why would u want to
You could have one but it might be a little to hard to handle like really you'de have to feed it evry 5 hours i guess you could but. i wounldent
Some people keep baby alligators as pets.
But, they end up releasing them once they grow.
Sure, but feed him well and sleep with one eye open.
It is possible, but it will bite you someday, they are very dangerous and not too smart. I don't know why you would want one anyway.
sure they make nice bed partners.. snickers..
Nope, unless you work at the zoo where there is a proper enclosure for his rowdy, bada$$ self.
do you have a large private lake for it to live in when it gets bigger? and do you have the money to supply food for it? and the insurence to cover you if it injuries or kills someone. do you have a really good fence around your lake to keep trespassers out? that alligator is not going to stay small forever. and they are pretty smart. after all, they are living dinosaures. they live long lives and they are hard to find homes for as teenagers or adults.
