i dont think the brothers would cause it much distress with it's shell and all, but i wouldn't recomend a turtle for a pet. the get boring and have a horrible stench about them.
I just acquired a baby red eared slider and it takes a lot of equipment.you need at least a 30 gallon tank, a water heater and a filter and then you have to clean the tank every week. Beware.they may be cute, but that are a lot of work, and you need to wash your hands after touching it to make sure you don't get salmonella poisoning.
raring a turtle is easy but one thing is tht u have to change the water frequently coz it smells bad..i dont think ur little bro's will wanna touch them after like several weeks..tht's from my past experience.hehe
get a tortoise! they seem to be happier than turtles and your brothers might also find them cool
before u get a turtle just kno that they can be pretty boring and they live a long time. make sure you dont abanon it
