somone help its about my turtle2007-11-24 2:03:06

well i have a 50 gallon tank with rocks, a basking lamp, plants, and a filter. i have 4 red eared slider turtles there all about a few months old and one of them, has this stuff covering his eyes. he cant open them and hes always open his mouth for like no reason. what i need to no if you no any reptile vets, or vets that will take look at him, that are in florida around west palm beach. or tell me whats wrong with him.

i would seperate it from the others and set up a "sick" tank withproper lghting ect. and pet shops sell meds. for turtles.it sounds like a uper respitory infection..and is probably contagus to the other turtles.google for a herpatologist vet in your area.good luck.treat all of them with the meds too to be sure..

Go to a vet. I have no knowledge when it comes to turtles except for there are some teenage mutant niga ones. Sorry.

best thing to do is call a few vets around you and ask them if the take care of reptiles , if not ask them if they know who does, i think most of them know alittle about them

adjust the light, he could be suffering from turtlightniletiness (turt-light- nile- ness) and his eyes and mouth can be affected. try getting a water dropper and putting it on his eyes. goodluck

He might have a c old or picked up a bacteria. He could spread it to the others so maybe you should isolate him until you could get him to a vet that treats reptiles. Here is a page with more info:
