turtle and frog pond

i want to have a turtle and/or a frog pond in my cousins backyard. it looks pretty good for it. i don't know if there are any frogs and turtles that are in his town though. it is malverne, ny, which is on long island. can you tell me if there is? please do research for me and try to find like a wildlife map, if you do, i will give you 10 points. if there is no turtles or frogs in his town, is it ok for me to get them from a pet store? thanks
Answers:There is plenty of wildlife. The basic feeling is if you build they will come. Just make sure it has everything they need; food, shelter, a place to raise their young
most turtles dont do good in the cold
I dont know but I stayed in a holiday inn last night.
Usually box turtles are the most common. Try doing research on those. My parents have box (aka snapping turtles) and they last all year long. They are out all summer and hibernate in the winter.
