what do baby turtles eat2007-11-24 2:03:20Answers:
Turtle foods come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and ingredients. Some even walk by themselves. There are flake and small pellet foods sold just for baby turtles and these are good for starting baby water turtles. Turtle sticks are the most common turtle foods on the market and are good for feeding all turtles including baby land turtles like baby box turtles. Larger floating pellets are sold for water turtles and are good for all turtles including babies. Dried shrimp and dried bugs are sold and are of questionable value; we don't use them. There are pellets sold for box turtles which smell like apples and really do smell good. However, we have yet to have any turtle eat them.
bread
I don't know about babys but i've seen adult turtles eat fish.
little pieces of raw hamburger works real well and a little turtle food supplement should do it. It's not hard to train a turtle to take food from you hand. try it. :)
some eat veggies, some only eat live food, some eat turtle pellets. what type of turtle is it?..was it found?.. start with live mealworms and see if it looks like it wants them. Ask where ever you bought it what they are feeding it, they make baby turtle food at pet stores try that.. remember turtles need warmth to get in the mood to eat. And they need UV lights or they also stop eating from lack of UV. If it is wild caught most likely you need to feed it something close to what it was eating.
Depending on the species, in the wild they eat small fish, worms, crustaceans, etc.
