A lizard that can be handled by a gentle 7-year-old. and would get along with a family of 5 people?

Bearded Dragons. They are a little bit more expensive than a leopard gecko, but in my opinion they're worth every penny! I have two bearded dragons and a leopard gecko. The dragons have SUCH a personality. Geckos aren't as exciting compared to dragons. They're small and a little fragil. I'm a hards on girl and I've always found beardies my favorite lizard of all!

Pet stores recommend geckos as good first pets! Leopard geckos I think are the ones they recommend most! Don't get an iguana, they take SO long to tame and are no fun! I wouldn't go with a bearded dragon first, even though they're pretty good because they bite when they're really freaked out. I'd try the gecko first until your kids know how to be gentle then try a bearded dragon!

I would definately consider a gecko.they are more docile than most & tend to withstand handling better.

Bearded dragon in my oppinion, they are bigger than geckos and so would be easier for a seven year old to handle.

Bearded Dragon! just make sure you play with it when its a baby, it might try to bight but the sound is scarey, it doesnt hurt at all. if you play with it when its a baby it will be nice when it gets older. they are sooo good for kids.
